    Principal Hydrologist / Geomorphologist


Evan has over 20 years of experience in the fields of hydrology and geomorphology. He earned a BS in Environmental Science from the University of New Hampshire, and a MS in Aquatic Ecology and Watershed Science from the University of Vermont. As the Founder of FEA in 2006, Evan has extensive experience with the development of watershed-based restoration plans using applied hydrology, geomorphology, and GIS. He continues to be involved in flood recovery efforts in response to the 2011 and 2023 floods on behalf of state and municipal clients throughout the Northeast. Evan is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and is experienced with stormwater, rivers,  and wetland permitting regulations at the local, state, and federal level.

Joe has been with Fitzgerald Environmental since 2011. He has worked on water quality and stormwater projects throughout the Northeast, including several complex stream monitoring station projects while at the University of Vermont, where he earned a BS in Environmental Science and a MS in Aquatic Ecology and Watershed Science. At FEA, Joe is responsible for stormwater monitoring projects, field surveys involving high-resolution GPS data collection, GIS mapping and analysis, detailed river surveys in support of river restoration projects, development of river and floodplain hydraulic models, and wetland delineation and permitting.

Sr Wetland Scientist/Environmental Engineer


Rodrigue joined Fitzgerald Environmental in 2019.  He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Florida International University, and Doctorate and MS degrees in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.  Rodrigue has a wide knowledge base covering environmental engineeering, water treatment, scientific methodology, data collection and analysis, and laboratory analytical methods.  He is adept at performing wetland surveys and delineations in a variety of settings, including challenging urban settings with historical human impacts (i.e., fill), as well as agricultural settings following Army Corps of Engineers protocols.  At FEA, Rodrigue is involved in wetland delineations, field surveys involving high-resolution GPS data collection, geomorphic assessments, and various stream and wetland restoration projects.

Jordan joined Fitzgerald Environmental in 2022 with several years of professional consulting experience throughout the Northeast.  He earned a BS and MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of Vermont.  At FEA, Jordan has worked across a broad range of water quality restoration projects in VT and NY, with expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater design and permitting, geomorphic assessments, erosion control inspections and monitoring, and environmental permitting at the federal and state levels.

Abby came to FEA in 2023 with experience in a number of local environmental projects including a dam relicensing water quality study, environmental site assessments, construction oversight for environmental remediation projects, and participating in Vermont’s first-of-its-kind PCBs in Schools project.  She holds a BS in Environmental Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics, from the University of Vermont.  Past honors include being a recipient of the UVM Presidential Scholars Award (2017-21) and President of the UVM chapter of Engineers Without Borders (2019-20).  Abby is experienced with mapping, construction oversight, and field data collection methods in the applied watershed sciences.

Frank joined Fitzgerald Environmental after graduating from the University of Vermont in the spring of 2020 with a BS in Environmental Science, where he focused his studies on geology, geomorphology and geospatial technologies.  At FEA, Frank has experience researching the role ​ of road erosion in phosphorus mobilization in Vermont's waters, and he is responsible for stormwater monitoring and asset data management, high-resolution GPS data collection, GIS mapping and analysis, hydraulic modeling, and CAD design.

             Staff Scientist / GIS Specialist


Jake began working at Fitzgerald Environmental in Summer 2022 as an Intern, then full-time as a Staff Scientist/GIS Specialist in May 2023. He holds a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Vermont Honors College, where his studies focused on environmental analysis and assessment.  At FEA, Jake is responsible for road erosion inventories, GIS mapping and analysis, and field surveys involving high-resolution GPS data collection and analysis of geospatial data, stormwater planning, stormwater master plans, and watershed action plans. Jake is well versed with data analysis and mapping tasks which support flood resiliency work and stormwater master planning.

           Wetland / Watershed Scientist


Owen joined FEA in June 2024 after relocating to Vermont from Washington state.  He holds a BS in Environmental Studies from Keene State College and is currently being trained in wetland delineation through Vermont Technical College.  His nine years as a Biologist with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, along with his experience in field assessments of fish habitats,  spawning and stocking surveys, culvert assessments, and GIS to display spatial data, has been an asset in our road erosion inventory and the impacts it has on fish habitats.

Lisa joined FEA in October, 2022.  She holds a BA in Human Services and Business Administration, with a minor in Accounting, from Trinity College of Vermont.  Past honors include 12+ years of public service as a certified EMT.  At FEA, she is responsible for supporting all organizational and administrative functions including human resources, accounting and finance, marketing, and permitting support.

                          Team Mascot


Josie, an English cream Golden Retriever, joined FEA in 2020 as our Team Mascot and Office Dog.  In between naps, she is responsible for daily pets, snuggles, and general cuteness on an as-needed basis.
